How We Work with Other Cities
- Track Record of Clean Energy Collaboration
Minneapolis, Xcel Energy and CenterPoint Energy have teamed up to help the city reach its climate action plan targets. The city set greenhouse gas emission reduction targets of 15 percent by 2015, 30 percent by 2025, and 80 percent or more by 2050 using 2006 as a baseline. The partnership will explore innovative approaches and enhanced outcomes in energy efficiency and the use of renewable energy.
As a result, the group received an Innovative Partnerships certificate in 2016 from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency for working together on leading-edge climate initiatives.
